Capabilities for Precision Dies and Metal Stamping

"Can you do this accuracy, at this thickness?" Here is the answer up front.

This page summarises what design and purchasing engineers most often check early in a project: sheet thickness, materials, accuracy, equipment capacity and data formats. If your requirement is not listed, or goes beyond the stated range, please ask. Our designers will assess feasibility and get back to you.

SPEC 01 / PLATE MACHINING

High-Accuracy Plate Machining

Our Mitsubishi Electric MP2400 ultra-high-precision wire EDM runs in a dedicated climate-controlled room. Die plates and stripper plates, which determine how reproducibly a die performs, are machined with stable sub-micron accuracy.

Pitch accuracy (proven) ±0.002 mm (±2 µm) Achieved under climate control
Surface roughness (proven) Ra 0.04–0.2 µm
Work size 600 × 400 mm Maximum machining envelope
Plate thickness Up to 60 mm
Materials SKD11 (D2), SKH51 (M2), powder HSS, tungsten carbide, etc.
Minimum corner radius R 0.075 mm Depends on wire diameter
Minimum slit width 0.15 mm With ø0.1 mm wire
Machining environment Dedicated climate-controlled room Reduces thermal displacement from temperature change
Typical applications Die plates, stripper plates and punch plates for progressive dies; individual die components
SPEC 02 / PRECISION DIE

Precision Stamping Die Design & Fabrication

Centred on progressive dies, we design and build dies for fine-pitch, thin-sheet and micro-geometry parts such as electronic components and connector terminals. Manufacturability consulting from the design stage delivers both long die life and stable volume production.

Die type Progressive dies
Part sheet thickness 0.05–3.0 mm Extensive experience below 0.1 mm
Minimum pitch 0.35 mm Extensive experience with fine-pitch terminals
Minimum punch diameter ø0.5 mm Carbide micro punches
Punch / die materials Tungsten carbide, powder HSS, SKD11 (D2), etc.
Die size Up to 1000 × 400 mm Subject to plate machining envelope
Design system 2D/3D integrated CAD/CAM (EXCESS HYBRID)
Typical products Connector terminals and contacts, lead frames, shield cases, spring parts, precision chassis components
Features Designed for high SPM, slug-pulling prevention, optimised relief and fit, high-rigidity / high-concentricity assembly, design data retained in-house
SPEC 03 / PRECISION STAMPING

Telling us the following speeds up our reply

You do not need all of it. Share whatever you know.

  • Part drawing or data (2D or 3D; a rough sketch is fine)
  • Material and thickness (plating, if any, and preferred supplier if specified)
  • Critical dimensions and tolerances (features that need the tightest control)
  • Expected quantity (monthly / annual volume, or prototype quantity)
  • Target delivery (approximate dates for first articles and production start)
  • Scope of engagement (die plus production, die only, production only, components only)
  • Preferred delivery format (reel, loose, tray, etc.)
  • Whether an NDA is required (please send your template if you have one)
